We offer Fun Agility Classes from Complete Beginners to Competition for dogs of all sizes. In addition to our outdoor training area we benefit from a spacious air conditioned indoor training room with agility flooring which enables us to keep up our practice in all weather.
Agility is great fun and can really benefit your dog’s overall fitness and well being. All of our classes are designed for you to enjoy together with your dog creating a regular highlight for your dog and important quality time for you both.
The classes are offered in a six week block and each of the classes are about an hour. We are excited to be able to offer a variety of times both daytime and evenings.
We also offer private lessons both at Forest Shadows and at your home in the Woodlands by request at $60 for 45 minutes and $80 for an hour. (There is an additional cost to travel to the home within. This is offered to the clients in the Woodlands area only!)
Class Information
What Should I Bring? We recommend soft tasty treats and a toy your puppy or dog enjoys. We suggest a flat (normal) collar and leash. We do not use choke chains or prong collars but if you wish we can recommend options for head-collars or comfortable body harnesses, many of which can be bought in reception at Forest Shadows. All dogs must be fully vaccinated, including twice yearly Bordetella. Please fax or bring your vaccinations certificate before you start your class.
Class approach follows APDT policy, so dogs are relaxed and motivated without being over excited - the optimum learning environment. Lesley uses Positive Reinforcement with clear signals (‘markers’) of reward or no-reward, structuring practice so that reward is achievable.
After all, you and your dog should enjoy the journey - together.
